Wow, this satchel is so pretty, as well as being a decent size - which is no mean feat when you carry as much stuff around with you as I do.
I'm in complete agreement about wearing bright colours when you're down.. my other favourite trick is wearing something so completely ridiculous you forget altogether about your woes. :)
